DISPLAY APPARATUS AND BRIGHTNESS CORRECTING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A display device and a brightness correction method are provided to compensate the uneven brightness distribution of an output image and the brightness variations of light due to the thin thickness of a backlight assembly by lowering a distance between parts comprising the backlight assembly. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(110) displays an image. A panel driving part(150) runs the display panel. A backlight assembly(120) provides light to the display panel. A brightness correction part(130) compensates the brightness of an image displayed on a display panel. The brightness correction part compensates the brightness of an image by using brightness correction information based on a sectional brightness of an image displayed on the display panel. An image processing part(140) processes an image signal to be displayable format. A storage part(160) stores a brightness correction information.
