<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the vibrations of the sidewall of a washing machine outer frame cannot be offset when a vibration cycle is shifted since the resonance frequency of a vibrating body is fixed and the vibrations of the sidewall of the washing machine outer frame cannot be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The washing machine includes: vibration detection means 43 for detecting the phase of the vibration signals of the sidewall 30b of the washing machine outer frame; signal generation means 44 for outputting the signals of a phase opposite to the signals of the vibration detection means 43; and vibration means 42 provided on the sidewall 30b of the washing machine outer frame for vibrating the sidewall 30b of the washing machine outer frame. The vibration means 42 is vibrated by the output signals of the signal generation means 44. Thus, the vibrations of the sidewall 30b of the washing machine outer frame are surely offset by the vibration means 42 and reduced.
