A variable valve timing control apparatus (1) includes a driving side rotating member (2), a driven side rotating member (3), a fluid pressure chamber (4), an advanced angle chamber (41), a retarded angle chamber (42), an intermediate lock mechanism (5) including a locking member (51) and a locking hole (52) engaged with the locking member when the locking member comes to protrude, the intermediate lock mechanism being configured to switch between a locked state and an unlocked state, a relative rotational phase of the driven side rotating member relative to the driving side rotating member being restrained at an intermediate phase in the locked state, a valve (63) allowing a fluid to be discharged when electricity is supplied thereto and allowing the fluid to be supplied when supply of electricity is interrupted, and a control portion, wherein the supply of the electricity to the valve is interrupted after a pressure of the fluid starts to decrease. |
