PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular pop-up hood device which satisfies both of hood push-up performance and pedestrian protection performance.SOLUTION: According to a vehicular pop-up hood device 10, when an energy absorbing mechanism 60 is operated, a lock pawl 70 is engaged with a ratchet 62 to regulate rotation of a hinge arm to the lower side of the hood at a push-up position. When collision load at a prescribed value or more functions on the hinge arm, the engagement state between the ratchet 62 and the lock pawl 70 is released, and thereby sliding friction causes between the lock pawl 70 and the ratchet 62, so that collision energy is absorbed. As a result of such a structure, when using relatively heavy hood, increase in the rigidity of the rod enables the hood to be pushed up to a prescribed pushing-up position. Also, increase in the rigidity of the rod enables absorption of the collision energy by the energy absorbing mechanism 60 different from the rod. |
