A smoke detection unit (14) has light emission element (38) and light receiving element in holders (32,30), forming a detection space in between. The light receiving element is formed as a integrated circuit (IC) mounted in hybrid circuit board along with amplification surface. The hybrid circuit board is arranged so that the receiving face is directed towards smoke detecting space to receive the light scattered by smoke in space. An Independent claim is also included for smoke detection section assembly.
