The seal is drawn into the grooves, following frame (1) extrusion. The assembly is prepared by mitering the ends; then the cut edges are heated, plasticizing them for joining. During bonding under pressure, sections of the seal (3) close to the butted miter joint (6) are pressed down towards the base of the profile (14), over the molten material. An Independent claim is also included for the connection so completed. Preferred features: Cut edges of the miter are plasticized with the welding heater, which is then removed. Pressure is applied to the sections of the seal near the mitered joint using a flat stamp (11), pressing them down towards the bases of the seal grooves. |
