PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid pressure power steering system suitable for a vehicle of high speed. SOLUTION: This fluid pressure steering system is provided with a fluid controller 21 for controlling the fluid current from a pressure source 11 to a steering actuator 19 in accordance with the steering wheel operation. The controller 21 is provided with a fluid meter 65 including a rotatable star, and the movement of the star is adjusted to the fluid current flowing in the actuator 19. The controller 21 is provided with a sensor 125 to sense the movement of the star, and outputs an electric signal 127 indicating the fluid flowing in the fluid meter 65. The signal 127 and a steering wheel position signal 107 are compared by using an on-vehicle microprocessor 25, operation signals 111, 113, 115 indicating 'error' are generated to be transmitted to a valve 23, and an adjustment fluid is allowed to flow in and out to a channel connected to the steering actuator 19 to compensate the movement of the fluid meter 65 and the steered wheel.
