PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rear face printing fault from occurring by certainly detecting attachment fault of an ink ribbon cassette. SOLUTION: The recorder includes an ink ribbon cassette 26 detachably mounted in a holding frame 23 of a rear face printing unit 20. A unit mounting plate 21 of the rear face printing unit 20 is rotatably mounted on a loading stand 46 through a mounting shaft 50, and displaced between a recording position and a retracting position. A cassette sensor 48 is provided to detect the ink ribbon cassette 26 at a recording position time. The cassette 26 mounted and its presence at a recording position can be detected by the single cassette sensor 48. A cassette mounting fault and a failure of returning it to the recording position are eliminated, and the rear face printing can be certainly performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
