PRINTER DRIVER WITH AUTOMATIC TEMPLATE FORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to reuse a set of corrected print settings related to a new print job with minimum labor and time.

SOLUTION: A method for printing documents from a user workstation includes steps for: activating a printer driver; specifying print process setting in the printer driver; and commanding the printer driver to submit the document file and the setting to the printer. A value of setting is individually or collectively specified, and collective specification is the selection of a user-selectable prestored set of setting called a template. Each time a value of at least one of predetermined sets of setting is individually specified and confirmed by a user, a new template is automatically defined and made selectable in the printer driver.
