<p>A method and apparatus of transmitting SearchParameters attribute information in a wireless communication system, comprising generating a SearchParameters attribute comprising a 8 bit Length field that indicates the length of the attribute excluding the length of Length field, a 8 bit AttributeID field, and a 4 bit PilotIncrement field comprising a value in units of PN (Pseudo Noise) chips and that indicates a value of PilotPN Sequence increment to be used by an access terminal for searching a Remaining Set, including the SearchParameters attribute in a ConfigurationRequest message and transmitting the ConfigurationRequest message over a communication link. A method and apparatus is further provided for receiving a ConfigurationRequest message comprising the SearchParameters attribute and processing the attribute.</p> |
