PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which eliminates both effects of a camera shake and an object shake and prevents image quality deterioration. SOLUTION: A control section 5 controls an exposure sensitivity setting section 27, an exposure control section 28, a face detection section 29, and an exposure control switching section 30 that are built in the imaging apparatus, on the basis of a photographing information input section 20 for receiving camera shake information 21 captured via a camera shake detection section 10, object luminance information 22 and focal distance information 24, a photographing scene received via an operation section 12, and photographing mode information 23 such as a camera shake mode or the like so as to properly function operations of a camera shake controller section 25 and/or a pixel mixture control section 26 for switching exposure control wherein exposure sensitivity is changed, thereby reducing the camera shake and the object shake and preventing deterioration in the image quality.
