PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To download map information to a mobile terminal without an interruption of present location display. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 11 has a function for indicating the present location on a map displayed on its screen. As the map, an area map divided by each area is displayed on the screen. When the mobile terminal downloads area map information indicating the area map from an information center 14, the mobile terminal downloads boundary area definition information defining a boundary area between area maps through a network 12.
