PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a specified pedestrian around one's own vehicle to precisely recognize the approach of a vehicle on the basis of the intention of an occupant. SOLUTION: In the approach notifying device 10, when an occupant touches a track pad 22 provided on a steering 26 and a contacting position moves on the track pad, the moving direction of a contacting position is determined. The moving direction is set to the sound generation direction of an approach notifying sound, and after an actuator 54 is actuated to turn a speaker 52 to sound generation, a predetermined approach notifying sound is sounded from the speaker at a volume set in an advance. Therefore, a sound in an unnecessary direction is prevented, the approach notifying sound is sounded toward the specified pedestrian and the like on the basis of the intention of the occupant, thereby precisely notifying the approach of the vehicle.
