PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lift for vehicle maintenance capable of effectively closing a pit when the lift is elevated. SOLUTION: An elevating/lowering means 2 comprises a lower elevating/lowering mechanism 4 for elevating and lowering an elevating/lowering stand 3 provided at an upper end, and an upper elevating/lowering mechanism 6 which is provided at the elevating/lowering stand 3 of the lower elevating/lowering mechanism 4 to elevate and lower a vehicle receiving stand 5 provided at an upper end. A cover 23 for covering the upper side of the elevating/lowering stand 3 except a shaft attachment end 19 and a sliding end 20 forming operational parts of the upper elevating/lowering mechanism 6 while its contour is matched with the opening surface of a storage part 31 is provided on the elevating/lowering stand 3 of the lower elevating/lowering mechanism 4.
