PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently clean ink adhering to a blade. SOLUTION: This cleaning device is adapted to clean an ink ejection section of an inkjet printer. The cleaning device comprises a blade member 221, a cleaning blade 231, and a cleaning blade movement mechanism. The blade member 221 is movable relative to the ink ejection section and adapted to clean the ink ejection section by allowing its edge to be brought into slide-contact with ink ejection section. The cleaning blade 231 is of a member for cleaning the blade member 221. The cleaning blade movement mechanism moves the cleaning blade 231 so that the cleaning blade 231 is brought into contact with the top end of the blade member 221 at one end side in the longitudinal direction thereof and a part of the cleaning blade 231 which is not in contact with the top end of the blade member 221 is brought into contact with the top end of the blade member 221 from one end side to the other end side in the longitudinal direction of the blade member 221.
