PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology contributed to avoidance of collision of a driving element and a hammering element on a hammering tool. SOLUTION: This hammering tool has a tool bit 119, the hammering element 143 having a hammering part 143a to hammer the tool bit 119 and a cylinder part 143b integrally formed with the hammering part 143a, the driving element 129 inserted into the cylinder part 143b free to slide, an inside space 143c surrounded by the hammering element 143 and the driving element 129 and a surplus space C remained in a state making contact with a wall surface of the inside space 143c against a head end of which a head end of the driving element 129 faces and hammers the tool bit 119 by moving the hammering element 143 through compressed air in the inside space 143c as the driving element 129 slides. Additionally, it is constituted so that the maximum pressure of the surplus space C when compression work is computed as an isothermal change becomes higher than the maximum pressure generated in the inside space 143c in processing work concerning the compression work of the inside space 143c by sliding of the driving element 129.
