PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate minute adjustment of operation timing of a sorting means, even when a high order commanding device of an article inspection position performing control operation is separated by more than several meters from a downstream sorting position. SOLUTION: The sorting device is provided with the sorting means 21 sorting articles W conveyed along a conveyance passage 1a to a given conveying direction; a sorting drive means 22 driving the sorting means 21, on the basis of sorting starting signals and sorting finishing signals included in sorting command signals RJ output at given timing from the high order commanding device 10 for the articles W under conveyance; and a parameter change requesting means 24 outputting parameter change requesting signals requesting change of the given timing, to the high order commanding device 10.
