<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat power generating apparatus which prevents overspeeding in the expander and the generator, and an overload in the generator, by suppressing the capacity of the generator to the minimum, while keeping the speed of the turbine generator fixed, without having to depend on a governing valve, and to provide an operation method for the waste heat power generating apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The waste hear power generating device is constituted, in a manner such that a waste heat medium from a waste heat source 30 is introduced into a steam generator 11; the generated working medium steam is introduced into the expander (turbine 14); power is generated by driving the high-speed generator 15, by using the expander; the working medium steam discharged from the expander is introduced into a condenser 17; the working medium steam is cooled and condensed by a low-heat medium from a low-heat source (cooling tower 40); a condensed working medium liquid is fed to the steam generator 11; and so that the working medium circulates in the device. In the waste heat power generating device, an overspeed/overload preventing means is arranged which prevents overspeeding and overloading in the expander and generator, by suppressing a circulation volume of the working medium, when the output of the generator or the speed of the generator attempts to exceed a prescribed value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
