OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR DATA RELAY, TESTING METHOD THEREOF AND TEST PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system for a data relay and the like capable of specifying a factor of a communication error and a position where the communication error occurs by a small effort and labor.

SOLUTION: A center apparatus 11 comprises a first test control signal output section 103 for transmitting a test control signal that commands a shift to a test mode when a frame error rate exceeds a threshold. A remote apparatus 12 comprises: a test control signal detecting function 104 for receiving a test control signal; a test data output function 201 for sending test data in reaction with the test control signal; an error detecting function 205 for measuring a bit error rate; a loop path 32c for looping the test data; switches 32a to b for selecting whether the test data have passed through the loop path or an E/O and O/E-conversion means; a loop control signal output function 202 for changing over the switches so as to pass the test data through the loop path; and a test control signal output section 203 for redirecting the bit error rate to the center apparatus.
