PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring system for an elevator that when an earthquake occurs can surely detect and identify a damaged elevator.SOLUTION: Monitoring terminals 1a-1n for monitoring an elevator, which have P-wave detecting portions 2a-2n and S-wave detecting portions 3a-3n, can communicate via a public line network 20 with a monitoring center 10. A processing device 12 of the monitoring center 10 is provided with: a P-wave detecting portion 12a for detecting P-waves from the monitoring terminals; an S-wave detecting portion 12b for detecting S-waves; and an S-wave undetecting portion 12c. The monitoring terminals, based on whether S-wave undetection notification is made or whether or not either one of S-wave detection notification and S-wave undetection notification within prescribed time is made by operation of an operation console 14 by an operator, can select and extract a position to be inspected of installation positions of the elevator. |
