PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a martensitic steel reducing the variation of fatigue behavior and increasing the average fatigue behavior and suitable for an engine transmission shaft for an aircraft.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a martensitic steel cured by intermetallic compounds and carbonization depositions where, regarding a martensitic steel containing Al of 0.4 to 3%, the heat molding temperature of the final heat molding pass is controlled to below the melting temperature of aluminum nitride in the steel, the treatment temperature for each potential heat treatment after the final heat molding pass is made lower than the solid melting temperature of the aluminum nitride in the steel, thus tab or acicular aluminum nitride is suppressed. Preferably, the content of Al is 0.5 to 2%, further, the content of C is below 0.4%, the content of Cr is 0.5 to 7%, the content of Ni is 6 to 18% and the content of Co is 4 to 18%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
