PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device with which a door body is slid by driving a driving device installed above an opening part, the sliding door device facilitating cleaning inside a door pocket and wiping of a panel body constituting the door pocket, at the same time making the sliding door device more compact.SOLUTION: A door pocket comprises first and second panel bodies 7, 8 located on both sides of a door body 2 in a depth direction and being slid in a width direction of an opening part. A rail 13 for the first panel body that guides a top part of the first panel body 7 is located above a driving device 33, while a rail 6 for guiding a top part of the door body 2 and a rail 14 for the second panel body that guides a top part of the second panel body 8 are located below the driving device.
