Provided is a Fourier transform spectrophotometer with which the speed of a moving mirror can be controlled in a stable manner. This Fourier transform spectrophotometer is characterized by having: a movable unit 111 to which a moving mirror 141 is fastened; an outside-force-applying means 160 for applying, to the movable unit 111, outside force exceeding the movement resistance of the movable unit 111; a drive source 120 for applying positive or negative drive power to the movable unit 111 in the direction of movement of the movable unit 111; a speed measurement unit 132 for measuring the speed of movement of the movable unit 111; and a drive power control unit 131 for controlling the drive power of the drive source 120 on the basis of the speed of movement, so that the movable unit 111 moves according to a prescribed mode, the rate of fluctuation of the drive power being minimized by operation in a state of high drive power of the drive source 120 due to the outside force, and control being stabilized. |
