PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer belt that can provide good dispersibility of metal oxide fine particles in a coating liquid for surface layer formation, and thereby suppressing a variation in output of an optical sensor reading the density of a toner; and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: The present intermediate transfer belt is an intermediate transfer belt that is included in an image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic system and has a surface layer on a substrate. The surface layer is obtained by irradiating a coating film of a coating liquid for surface layer formation with an activation energy ray to cure the coating film, the coating liquid for surface layer formation containing metal oxide fine particles (A), a (meth)acrylate monomer (B) having a refraction index nD from 1.6 to 1.8, and an activation energy ray curable composition containing a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate (C) other than the (meth)acrylate monomer (B).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
