PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin which has excellent flowability and can give a cured product having excellent heat resistance, and a thermosetting resin composition comprising the epoxy resin.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an epoxy resin obtained by epoxidizing a phenolic hydroxy group-containing compound, the phenolic hydroxy group-containing compound obtained by the reaction between a phenol and a ketone compound in the presence of an acidic catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
