A process is disclosed for detecting substances contained in fibres or other natural or synthetic polymers. The substances are identified by immunochemical processes. The immunochemical reaction can be carried out on the fibre or polymer or in a solution. The process is particularly suitable for detecting substances which can act as allergens.
