NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 is methyl or ethyl). EXAMPLE:3-N-2'-methoxyethyl-N-allylamino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran. USE:A color-developing compound for recording material such as pressure- sensitive recording material or heat-sensitive recording material. PREPARATION:The objective compound can be produced by reacting a benzoic acid derivative of formula II (R2 is methyl or ethyl) [e.g. 2-(4'-N-2''-methoxyethyl- N-allylamino-2'-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid] with a diphenylamine derivative of formula III (R3 is lower alkyl) (e.g. 4-methoxy-2-methyldiphenylamine). |
