A power tool comprises a base 18 for support on a surface, a housing supported on the base and defining an opening, a telescoping spindle assembly 34 positioned for movement along an axis and for rotation about the axis, a motor 30 to rotatably drive the spindle assembly, and a feed system for moving the spindle assembly between a lowered position and a raised position. A portion of the feed system is exposed through the opening. The feed system includes a flexible member 130 movably connected to the spindle assembly such that movement of the flexible member moves the spindle assembly between the lowered position and the raised position. The drill press also comprises a flexible barrier member 158 to cover the exposed portion of the feed system. |
