PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens interchangeable camera and a camera system which attain a highly accurate AF even when an interchangeable lens is attached, through an intermediate adaptor, to the lens interchangeable camera having an AF detection device of a TTL phase difference system. SOLUTION: The camera system is provided with an interchangeable lens unit 10, the intermediate adaptor 20, and a camera body unit 30. An amount of defocusing of the interchangeable lens unit 10 is detected by an AF sensor 46. The data storage part 16 in the interchangeable lens unit 10 stores: first AF correction data that is determined by the optical characteristic of the interchangeable lens unit 10 and composed corresponding to the type of a light source illuminating a subject; and second AF correction data that is determined by the optical characteristic of a combination of the interchangeable lens unit 10 and the intermediate adaptor 20 and composed corresponding to the type of a light source illuminating a subject.
