PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twenty-hour available compact imaging apparatus easy to handle at low cost. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 capable of forming the image of an object on the imaging surface of an imaging device 7 through a lens 3 in both bright and dark places comprises a light source 6 capable of irradiating the object with an IR light of a specified wavelength, and an optical filter 8 disposed between the lens 3 and the imaging device 7 having a light transmittivity in the visible range and in the wavelength range of the IR light radiated from the optical source 6.
