摘要 The invention relates to a method for enzymatic nucleic acid duplication wherein synthetic oligonucleotides, which contain one or several structural units having a unnatural chemical structure, are used. The use of said structural units prevents enzymatic synthesis of the nucleic acid strands which are complementary to the sections which contian said structural units. The inventive methods also enables alternative split forms of genes to be detected, nucleic acid variants to be detected, marked nucleic acid molecules to be produced, and nucleic acid double strands products having single-stranded overhangs to be immediately produced for subsequent ligation reactions. Fields of application of the invention are various areas of research, the biomedical practice, nucleic-acid based analysis, in particular biotechnological, agrarian and food products, in additon to criminology.
