PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data processing technology allowing efficient transmission of image data showing a bar code. SOLUTION: In a distribution side device distributing commodity data to an electronic shelf tag, a plurality of modules 520 extending in a first direction D1 generate and transmit partial bar code image data showing a partial image 530 including a part of each of the plurality of modules 520 constituting the bar code 512, with respect to the bar code 512 arranged in parallel along a second direction D2 perpendicular to the first direction D1. The electronic shelf tag receives the partial bar code image data transmitted from the distribution side device, and generates the whole bar code image data showing the whole bar code 512 based on the partial bar code image data.
