<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection system capable of attaining cost reduction in a control device as well as high flexibility of pump selection and flow passage design. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel injection system 8 includes a plurality of pumps 12, 14 for supplying pressurized fuel to a common accumulator volume chamber 22 that supplies the pressurized fuel in turn to a plurality of fuel injectors 26. An engine control unit controls the flow rate of pressurized fuel fed into the accumulator volume chamber in response to an engine load. The flow rate of pressurized fuel from at least one pump of the plurality is dependent upon engine speed, whereas at least one other pump of the plurality includes a fuel output control device 50 responsive to the engine control unit enabling the flow rate of pressurized fuel fed from the pump to be varied independently of engine speed. The engine control unit controls the aggregate flow rate of pressurized fuel from the pump into the accumulator volume chamber, while controlling only one of the pumps. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
