The present invention relates to a negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, a producing method thereof, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The lithium secondary battery has excellent charge and discharge properties through providing a producing method of an M-Si composite used as the negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery by comprising a process step of silicon (Si) and metal (M), an etching step, and an oxidation step, and forming a structure support of porous silica, and has stable cycle properties due to small capacity reduction depending on increasing cycles.
