PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus capable of stably cleaning an image carrier over a long period by suppressing inversion, oscillation and wear of a cleaning member.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus comprises: an image carrier in which a toner image is formed on the surface; a drive device which rotationally drives the image carrier; a development device; a cleaning member; and a control part. The development device develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier to a toner image with adhesion of toner including abrasive particles. The cleaning member is arranged so as to be in contact with the surface of the image carrier to clean the surface of the image carrier. The image formation apparatus can execute friction resistance suppression processing for suppressing the friction resistance between the cleaning member and the surface of the image carrier by discharging toner to the image carrier from the development device at the time of non-image formation. The control part adjusts the toner amount to be discharged from the development device to the image carrier at the time of execution of the friction resistance suppression processing in accordance with the estimation result of the surface condition of the image carrier.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
