Disclosed is a locking device for a piece of jewelry, specially a chain or necklace, comprising an opening locking element (2), which interacts with a connecting element (10a) coupled to a first end of the piece of jewelry, and a fastening element (3), interacting with a second connecting element (10b) coupled to a second end of the piece of jewelry. The locking element (2) and the fastening element (3) are designed as integral components of the locking device (1a; 1b; 1c; 1d) which is embodied as a single piece.
