The current collector (1) has a height adjustable holding system (2) carrying a loop strip arrangement (3), for the transmission of power from an overhead line to an electrically driven vehicle (100), with which the current collector is permanently connected. At least one damping unit (4) is provided, which is connected with the holding system. The holding system (2) has two arms (20, 21) connected across a joint (22), and the first arm (20) is held jointed at the fixing element (7), and the loop strip arrangement (3) is fixed at the second arm (21), across spring loaded supporting tongues and an apex tube (29).
