The method of making a mask, particularly for sub-aqua uses, having a body (3) with an annular housing (2), by way of a shaped frame (7), into which fits a pre-shaped transparent element (1) of glass or plastic which is directly fixed and sealed to the annular space of the housing. The transparent element (1) is held and sealed by at least one peripheral locking piece (6) either in combination with the housing or made of several pieces that are fixed together by ultrasonic welding.
