摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an automated calibration method using image processing techniques for detecting and quantifying agglutination formed in response to immunological agglutination reaction by extracting a data value representative of an image of a pixel array and adjusting a focus of a lens and a position of a calibration device for the pixel array using the data value. SOLUTION: While a secondary positioning device 32 is provided to position and hold a cassette, an image of the cassette is formed on a secondary imaging device 36. A secondary lighting device 34 is provided to form a lit image of the cassette on the secondary imaging device 36. Then while the image is being formed on the secondary imaging device 36, a focus of a lens and a position of a calibration device are adjusted for a pixel array, and the secondary device 36 generates a set of signals representative of the lit image formed thereon. The signals are transmitted to a secondary data processor 40, which receives the signals for processing according to a predetermined program.
