The invention relates to a closure for garments, especially corsetry, that consists of two plate-shaped parts that are compatible with each other, namely a passive lower part (2) and an active upper part (3). The lower part (2) is provided with a central projection (6) on its upper side and the upper part (3) is provided with an opening (16) that receives said projection (6). The bearing surfaces (7 and 17) of the projection (6) and the opening (16) form a respective undercut. A guide tongue (18) that extends under the opening (16) is located on the lower side of the upper part (3). Said guide tongue is inserted in a recess (10) in the lower part (2) below the projection (6) when the closure is closed by a surface-parallel closing movement until the bearing surfaces (7, 17) are locked. The inventive design of the closure facilitates the closure of the two parts in a particularly simple manner, since the two parts, when brought together, automatically glide into each other and can be closed by simply snapping them in. For opening the closure it is sufficient to apply a minor force acting in the direction of the inclined surfaces, thereby allowing that the closure is opened with a single hand by lifting the front edge (19) of the upper part (3) (arrow 20). |
