PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spectacles, capable of preventing snapping of temples at the skin by eliminating the excessive pressurized contact force to the flanks of the face. SOLUTION: The method of reducing the contact pressure of the temples 1 with the flanks of the face of the spectacles fitted with the temples 1 by means of joints 4 at the brackets 3 mounted on the front frame of the spectacles, comprises increasing a thickness T of end covers 2 and curving the temples 1 outwardly within a range from the joints 4 to the end covers 2, thereby reducing the contact pressure of the temples with the flanks of the face in the range from the joints 4 to the end covers 2. Accordingly, the thickness T of end covers 2 is made greater than heretofore, and the brackets 3 are supported higher with respect to the flanks of the face, by which the end covers are acted to increase a space S, while the joints 4 do not touch the skin and the end covers can be acted to reduce the contact pressure, while the joints 4 touches the skin.
