PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a gas adsorption amount measuring instrument by gravimetry. SOLUTION: This gas adsorption amount measuring instrument 1 is used for measuring an adsorption amount of a gas sample onto a adsorbent sample, and has an elastic body 4 suspended inside a container 2. The adsorbent sample is arranged in a basket 18 located in a lower end of the elastic body 4, the inside of the container 2 is brought into an atmosphere of the sample gas, the sample is thereby adsorbed to the adsorbent sample, and a mass of the adsorbent sample is increased thereby. The elastic body 4 is elongated as a result thereof, and a marker 19 arranged in the elastic body 4 is thereby moved downwards. The measuring instrument provided with a light emitting part 20 and a photoreceiving part 21 for a laser beam measures a moved amount of the marker 19, i.e., an elongated length of the elastic body 4, and a computing unit 6 calculates the adsorption amount of the gas sample based on a result therein.
