PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter composition to attain a high luminance, a high contrast, enlargement of a color reproduction range, and improvement in an outer light reflection preventing function, and to provide a color display and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The color filter composition has a spectral feature to allow specified light in a visible range to transmit. The color filter composition is composed of inorganic metal oxide fine particles containing particles whose diameters are not smaller than 0.1μm of not more than 15 wt.% of the whole particles, and particles whose diameters are larger than 0.02μm and not larger than 0.08μm of not less than 70 wt.% of the whole particles. A color filter is formed on an inside surface of a display device panel by screen printing or heat transferring printing utilizing the color filter composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
