PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission equipped with a learning setting function of hydraulic pressure characteristic values. SOLUTION: In the automatic transmission having a learning function for executing learning of the hydraulic pressure characteristic values by switching at least two modes, a learning standby mode and a learning execution mode, a control part of the automatic transmission is transferred to the learning standby mode capable of being transferred to the learning execution mode, when a first predetermined operation is performed. When a second predetermined operation is performed in the learning standby mode, the control part is transferred to the learning execution mode of the hydraulic pressure characteristic values of a friction engagement element related to a selected travel range, and executes learning setting of the hydraulic characteristic values in regard to the friction engagement element related to the selected travel range. Regardless of results of the learning setting, when learning control of the hydraulic pressure characteristic values in regard to the friction engagement element related to the selected travel range is completed, the control part is returned to the learning standby mode, and repeatedly receives the above second operation.
