PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic reception mode setting system for a mobile terminal that can simplify its configuration, facilitate setting of each transmission station, set a reception mode suitable for a surrounding state and provide flexibility to system administration/operation. SOLUTION: The automatic reception mode setting system for a mobile terminal controls a reception state mode of the mobile terminal in response to a change in the use state in a prescribed area (facility 2) wherein the mobile terminal 1 connected to a prescribed communication network 5 is in use. The system is characterized in to include: a reception state mode setting server 3; and a control base station 4 as communication means for informing the mobile terminal 1 about the change in the use state in the prescribed area.
