PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and abnormal sound caused by COM signals supplied to a common electrode provided in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 10 is equipped with a liquid crystal display panel 11 having a liquid crystal layer disposed between an active matrix substrate and a counter substrate. A common electrode is disposed on the counter substrate for forming a potential with respect to a pixel electrode disposed on the active matrix substrate; and the common electrode is divided into a first common electrode 33a and a second common electrode 33b in the liquid crystal display panel 11. The liquid crystal device 10 is equipped with a display panel drive circuit 21 (driving unit) to respectively supply drive signals in inverted phases from each other to the divided common electrodes 33a, 33b.
