METHOD FOR HEATING PET PELLET FED TO SOLID STATING PROCESS BY HEAT EXCHANGE WITH HOT SOLID STATED PELLET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by recovering heat from hot PET pellets exiting a solid state polymerization reactor and utilize it to heat cool pellets entering a crystallizer or the solid state polymerization reactor.

SOLUTION: A method for minimizing energy consumption during production of polyethylene terephthalate by crystallizing amorphous pellets at high temperature and then introducing it to the solid state polymerization reactor includes removing the heat of hot pellets from the solid state polymerization reactor and transmitting the removed heat to heat the cool pellets to be fed to the crystallizer.
