PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a stable bias magnetic field to a magnetism detection element.SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor comprises: a MR element 10; and bias magnetic field generation units 21 and 22 that generate a bias magnetic field to be applied to the MR element 10 in cooperation. Each of the bias magnetic filed generation units 21 and 22 has: a first antiferromagnetic layer; a ferromagnetic layer layer; and a second antiferromagnetic layer that are laminated along a Z-direction. On a virtual plane P crossing the MR element 10 and perpendicular to the Z-direction, an element arrangement region R is formed that is located between the bias magnetic filed generation units 21 and 22 when viewing from the Z-direction. The element arrangement region R includes: a center region R3; and end regions R1 and R2 that are located on either side of an X-direction thereof. The MR element 10 is arranged so that the entire MR element 10 is included in the center region R3 on the virtual plane P.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
