PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the degree of freedom in arrangement of a scavenging pump and a feed pump in a lubrication device of an internal combustion engine in which a crank chamber and a transmission chamber, which houses a gear transmission having a main shaft and is arranged behind the crank chamber, are formed in a crank case, and power from a crank shaft can be transmitted to a pump shaft common to the scavenging pump and the feed pump.SOLUTION: The axis CP of a pump shaft 85 is arranged lower than the axis CM of a main shaft 27. A pump gear 88 provided on the pump shaft 85 is directly meshed with a primary driven gear 51 that is meshed with a primary drive gear 50 provided on a crank shaft 7 to form a primary gear reduction mechanism 49 in cooperation with the primary drive gear 50, is formed in a larger diameter than the primary drive gear 50 and is arranged coaxially with the main shaft 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
