PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designated wear thickness of a lining member of a lining device for an automobile disc brake in which a concave brake disc surface of a brake disc co-operates with a convex lining surface of the lining member of the lining device and which comprises a plate shaped lining support body provided with a flat support surface for the lining member. SOLUTION: A device for optimizing friction volume of the lining member is provided between the convex lining surface of the lining member and the support surface 16 of the lining support body.
